FinCoNet’s Programme of Work is carried out through four Standing Committees. The workstream of Standing Committee 6 (SC6) for 2025-26 continues with the theme of Exploring the Application of the G20/OECD High Level Principles on Financial Consumer Protection. Financial consumer vulnerability is the second of three topics (including sustainable finance and quality financial products) in the current FinCoNet 2025/2026 Standing Committee 6 work programme.
To address this topic, Standing Committee 6 convened FinCoNet Members to share supervisory approaches to the treatment of consumers in vulnerable circumstances, aligned with the G20/OECD High-Level Principles on Financial Consumer Protection. This engagement included roundtable discussions with SC6 members and wider FinCoNet Members, as well as a Webinar hosted by SC6, which concentrated specifically on insights from the Financial Conduct Authority (UK), Central Bank of Ireland, Banco Central do Brasil (Brazil) and Financial Consumer Agency of Canada.
