FinCoNet announces its programme of work for 2017/18

Following its Annual General Meeting held in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 15-16, 2016, members of the International Financial Consumer Protection Organisation (FinCoNet) have agreed to a new programme of work for 2017/18. The Organisation’s programme of work is reviewed annually and agreed upon by all members.

This paper is based on its findings from the 2016 report on Sales Incentives and Responsible Lending, the views of FinCoNet members on those findings and FinCoNet’s consideration of submissions received to the 2016 public consultation on the Impact of Sales Incentives on the Sale of Consumer Credit Products.

This study focuses on how regulators and supervisors are responding to emerging risks, particularly security risks, and are keeping up with the pace of innovation, and on issues that need to be addressed in order to increase consumer trust and confidence in new digital payment systems.
